Chieftain's Braeval 14 Year Old Cask #130153 Speyside

A lighter bodied scotch with some honey and floral notes. On the palate there is vanilla and caramel with a slightly salty finish. Perfect to drink with a friend after work. P.S. This distillery closed in 2002 so, for the present, no more is being produced.

$70.50

Chieftains Strathisla 12 Year Old Cask # 90291 Speyside

An historic distillery that has been in operation since the early 1800's. Monks were brewing beer from the nearby spring in the 1300's. The flavors are deep, and rich with notes of wood and dried fruit. Sweet aromas  of malt, burnt sugar, spice cake and spruce.

$73.00

Hart Brothers Highland Park 11 Year Old Orkney Island

Smoky, but not overpoweringly so. A hint of salty brine mingles with vanilla, caramel and dried fruits.

$69.75

Hart Brothers Macallan 13 Year Old Speyside

A bit unusual for a Macallan. The nose combines exotic notes of tropical fruit, mint , dried herbs and iodine. On the palate, there is a warming caramel and salted nut aspect that finishes out with dried orange peel and sea brine.

$75.75

Hazelburn 12 Year Old Campbeltown

A new release from Campbeltown's prestigious Springbank distillery. This is a bit hard to get hold of so I haven't tried it. (Saving it for you). The Whiskey Advocate says: "This is a substantial and well integrated dram, with malt, almonds, cocoa and spice on the palate, while the long, spicy finish offers more chocolate, soft fruits and coffee." Sounds good to me.

Kilchoman Spring 2011 Release

Kilchoman (pronounced: kill home an) has the distinction of being the first distillery to be built on the island of Islay (pronounced: I lay) in 124 years. This whiskey is a truly hand made product. They are one of the few distilleries to malt their own barley, not only that, the distillery is on a farm that actually grows 30% of the grain they use. As you might expect, this comes on with a lot of smoke and a bit of iodine, but the underlying fruit and spice result in a truly complex dram.

$59.00

A.D. Rattray Cask Collection "Auchentochen" 18 Year Cask 17285

One of the few working distilleries in the Lowlands. Fresh, high toned aromas. Cedar, saddle leather and nuts. Subtle and contemplative.

$81.75

Stronachie 12 Year Old "The Lost Distillery"

Stronachie has a great story. It was a distillery that had gone dormant in the early 1900's. The current distiller had become obsessed with this Scotch and tracked down a hundred year old bottle in an attempt to recreate the formula. The result is a mildly peaty, medium bodied whiskey with a warm smooth finish. One of our most popular Scotch whiskies.

$46.00 Temporarily Out of Stock

Isle of Skye Blended 8 Year Old Scotch Whiskey

A delicious blend of island and Speyside whiskies. Not as smoky as you might expect, but there is that influence. Gentle but complex enough to make you forget it's a blend.
