| Gin: Gin is a spirit flavored with juniper berries. Distilled gin is made by redistilling white grain spirit which has been flavored with juniper berries. The most common style of gin, typically used for mixed drinks, is London dry gin. London dry gin is made by taking a neutral grain spirit and redistilling after the botanicals are added. In addition to juniper, it is usually made with a small amount of citrus botanicals like lemon and bitter orange peel. Other botanicals that may be used include anise, angelica, root and seed, orris root, licorice root, cinnamon, coriander, and cassia bark. |

Boomsma Oude Genever Gin
An authentic genever gin made in an aged style. This has a golden color and very little of the juniper flavor one expects from a London dry gin. Really, it's almost more like whiskey. An intriguing spirit to add to your collection.

Leopold's Gin
The Juniper is prevalent here but the gin is quite smooth. There is a hint of cucumber as well. Although citrus is used in the recipe it is not really on the forefront. An excellent martini gin but flavorful enough to be good in other cocktails as well.

Broker's Gin
The Broker's distillery is located in Birmingham, England in a 200 yr old former brewery. The water comes an underground spring beneath the building and the gin is made in copper pot stills. The result is a London Dry style with notes of juniper, moist earth and subtle, spicy accents. If you like the London Dry style, you will be hard priced to find a better example for anywhere near this price. A great, new find.

Plymouth Gin
Smooth and balanced, a dry style... definitely not in your face. This is great for cocktails and martinis, but may be overpowered by drinks with too many ingredients or ingredients that are strong and flavorful. One of the oldest gins. The company began in the late 1700s and is distilled at Black Friars distillery, the oldest ginned distillery on record.

Boodles Gin
Boodles is is an extremely aromatic, almost oily textured gin. Strong aroma of Juniper. Not as dry as Plymouth or Bluecoat. Something like Bombay, but not as herbal. Excellent in gin and tonic's with the dried tonic and outstanding with a dry gimlet.
